Steps before berries arrive at the Greenvit facility

1. Harvesting
Our berries are sourced from local European farmers. Carefully selected varieties of berries are harvested when mature, in August and September.

2. Freezing
Initially cleaned berries are being frozen and transported to the Greenvit Extraction Facility.

3. Storage
Frozen fruits are stored at -18°C to -25°C in airtight packaging with controlled humidity and air circulation to preserve quality and ensure readiness for filtration.

Thanks to the funds obtained under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), we have implemented a project that enabled us to introduce modern, sustainable, and environmentally friendly production technologies. As a result, we have expanded our offer to include standardized plant extracts with exceptional specifications, meeting the growing needs of the food industry in Poland and international markets.

Quality
High and consistent content of active compounds — organic and conventional quality
The new product line was developed using innovative processing methods applied to domestically sourced fruits and plant raw materials, including, among others, chokeberry, black elderberry, haskap berry, wild blueberry, milk thistle, and hops. The technologies employed allow for the production of extracts with a high and consistent content of active compounds, available in both organic and conventional quality.

From berry to final product

STEP 1
Extraction with reverse osmosis water
The cleaned berries are transferred to a mixing tank, where they are combined with reverse osmosis water. A high-powered propeller creates a vigorous swirling motion, efficiently extracting the juice and valuable compounds. The separation process utilizes centrifugal force to divide the liquid extract from the pulp. The remaining pulp is not discarded—it’s repurposed to minimize waste, emphasizing our zero-waste production philosophy.

STEP 2
Microfiltration membranes process
The first filtration step employs ceramic multi-channel membranes designed to capture microscopic impurities such as germs and solid particles. This step ensures the liquid extract is microbiologically stable and safe for further processing. The use of low-pressure filtration technology not only reduces energy consumption but also minimizes the carbon footprint, reflecting the Pure Green Line’s commitment to sustainability.

STEP 3
Ultrafiltration membranes process
The extract is further refined using nanometer-scale membranes to isolate and concentrate essential organic compounds like polyphenols, polysaccharides, and oligosaccharides. These compounds are known for their health benefits, such as antioxidant properties and digestive support. The process takes place at a low temperature to protect the delicate polyphenols and polysaccharides. By removing unwanted elements while retaining these valuable nutrients, the process produces a superior-quality extract rich in active ingredients.

Zero waste

STEP 4
Concentration by reverse osmosis membranes
In the final filtration stage, a reverse osmosis membrane separates water molecules from residual sugars and other impurities. The purified reverse osmosis water is recycled back into the system, creating a closed-loop water cycle that drastically reduces waste. This step embodies Greenvit’s dedication to conserving natural resources and achieving sustainability in every production cycle. Meanwhile, sugars removed during this step are repurposed as natural sweeteners, contributing to a zero-waste initiative.

Drying & packing
In the drying process additional fiber is added to the liquid extract, enhancing its nutritional profile. This step introduces a natural source of fiber, creating a prebiotic effect that supports gut health and contributes to the functional benefits of the final product.
