Inhibition of influenza A virus and human betacoronavirus replication by polyphenol-rich extract blend
Study description:
In vitro study evaluating antiviral activity of a double-standardized blend of aronia and elderberry extracts against human respiratory viruses, including influenza A (H1N1) and betacoronavirus (HCoV-OC43).
Key results:
- Up to 80% inhibition of influenza A (H1N1) replication
- ~50% inhibition of human betacoronavirus (HCoV-OC43)
- Stronger antiviral effect of the blend vs individual extracts
- Confirmed activity in post-infection phase
